The logic was crude:
- The JD lists

- More hits = higher match score.

tech stack + business context + quantified outcome. The algorithm seesSnowflakenot as an isolated token but asSnowflake used at 3.2B events/day scale. - Every weak verb (
Responsible for,Worked with,Used) is replaced withArchitected,Migrated,Led,Built.
Result: the candidate received a phone screen invite from Stripe within three days.
4. A 4-Item Checklist You Can Apply Today
Twelve years of recruiting boiled down to four rules. You can finish the rewrite before dinner:
- Delete the standalone Skills list. Embed each technology inside the work-experience bullets where you actually used it.
- Every bullet needs at least one quantified result — percentage, dollar amount, scale, user count, or time saved. Pick two.
- Repeat the same keyword at most 2-3 times, but always in a different business context. The algorithm rewards diverse contextual usage.
- Replace
Responsible for,Worked with,Used,Helpedwith strong verbs:Architected,Led,Migrated,Reduced,Drove.
