Logic: average tenure per company.
- Average tenure < 1 year: job hopper tag, heavy penalty
- Average tenure 1.5 - 4 years: optimal range
- Average tenure > 6 years: stale tag (lack of growth), light penalty
A counter-intuitive fact — tenure that's too long is also penalized in 2026. The algorithm assumes 6+ years without a move signals lack of market competitiveness.
Sub-metric 3: Scope Expansion
Logic: with each job change or promotion, did your scope grow, shrink, or stay flat?
- Team grew from 5 → 15 → score up
- System grew from single service → entire platform → score up
- Reach grew from single team → cross-team → score up
- Title increased but the work didn't change → no score (flagged as "title inflation")
Sub-metric 4: Gap Penalty
Logic: unexplained time gaps in your resume cost points.
- < 3 months: soft note, no penalty
- 3-6 months: light penalty, recruiter will ask
- 6-12 months: moderate penalty, automatically routed to "needs explanation" queue
